VorCone flow meters use a combination of two different flow meter technologies: vortex and differential pressure. The design combined two separate flow measurement principles into one hybrid system in which two flow meters complement each other's characteristics. This combination allows you to predict the density of the liquid, volume flow and mass flow without the need to obtain any information about the density of the liquid from an external source.

This ability to measure the density of a liquid allows the meter to produce several valuable results. The VorCone meter can calculate the density of changing gas mixtures. For example, natural gas is usually a composition of many different gases that can change over time and vary depending on the application. When working with saturated steam, the meter provides reliable measurement of the quality (dryness) of steam and indications of the mass flow rate of steam. When working with wet natural gas, the meter can provide reliable measurement of the liquid content and indications of the mass flow of gas. These are a few examples of the unique capabilities of the VorCone meter.
